Funded by Safefood Ireland, Queen’s University in Belfast (QUB) have designed a survey entitled: Use of antimicrobials in animal health on the Island of Ireland: knowledge, attitudes and behaviour. The aim of this study is to investigate farmers knowledge, attitudes and opinions that influence behaviours towards the use of antibiotics in farming practices across NI and ROI. The results from this study will have a beneficial impact on the industry and aid in the development of strategies to support farmers’ engagement with herd health practices, encouraging responsible and sustainable use of antibiotics in agriculture.

The short online survey will consist of a series of questions and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. While the survey is available online, farmers can also complete the survey via telephone or request a paper copy to be sent in the post by contacting 028 9097 4951. The first fifty participants from each sector will receive a £15 ‘One4All’ e-voucher in gratitude for their time.
